Vascular SurgeonThe Vascular Surgeon is the specialist who handles the clinical and surgical study for the diagnosis and treatment of arterial and venous diseases. The clinical study relies primarily on non-invasive Color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic examination
Dr. Cosimo Capolongo was born in Foggia on 21 October 1961 and graduated from the A. Moro Classical High School in Manfredonia
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa in 1990, and was licensed to practice as a Medical Surgeon in November of the same year. He specialized in Vascular Surgery in 1995 with top honors, at the Chair of Vascular Surgery of the same University, headed by Prof. Pietro Belardi
He has been registered with the Balearic Islands Medical Association under no. 070711250 since 09/09/2019
His curriculum includes positions as Assistant, Surgical Aide, and On-Call Physician at the Emergency service of the Vascular Surgery division of the "Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace" in the Principality of Monaco, headed by Docteur André Marsan
He is a member of the Italian Society of Clinical and Experimental Phlebology
He currently practices specialist activity in private clinics

Vascular surgery
Arterial and venous imaging diagnostics
Provides a color image of the main arteries and veins, defining extent, size, as well as the direction and speed of the corresponding blood flow. Detects any narrowing, occlusions, and aneurysms in the arteries and veins
Outpatient varicose vein surgery
Outpatient surgery for varicose veins is performed with a short recovery and hospital stay, in cases where traditional sclerotherapy, micro-foam sclerotherapy, or other techniques prove difficult or have an uncertain outcome
Sclerotherapy Treatment
This is a painless and effective method that, through micro-injections of sclerosing agent, causes the closure of dilated capillaries and varicose veins. This treatment is carried out after a clinical diagnostic examination and Color Doppler ultrasound, in just a few sessions
Transcranial Color Doppler Ultrasound
Transcranial Color Doppler ultrasound for the early diagnosis of diseases of the cerebral arteries and veins and, using a completely harmless contrast agent, of congenital heart defects (for example, the abnormal communication between the right and left atria), a condition that can cause strokes. No contraindications except pregnancy, which nevertheless does not preclude the possibility of performing this examination, although under close specialist supervision
